A Brief Summary

In 1969 founder and owner Walter Schellenberg found his gift for decorating when he was awarded first place in painting and decorating from a secondary trade school in St. Catharines Ontario. Walter later decided to develop his talent further by moving to Sweden to take a 4 year (6000 hr) apprenticeship where he received certification as a European trade decorator.

When Walter returned to Canada he created Decorating with a Difference. His father, Henry Schellenberg, owned a company in construction for over four decades until his retirement, which inspired him greatly.

Since then he has had the privilege of working in many of the finest homes in Toronto and had led several workshops teaching various faux finishes for the Ontario Heritage Foundation, and at the Joseph Schneider house in Kitchener among others. His work has been featured in national magazines such as House and Home, House Beautiful, Select Homes, Toronto Magazine, and more recently The Globe and Mail.
